Basecamp is situated at the
foot of Tom Miner Basin. Flanked by mountain ranges, with
the Yellowstone River on one boundary and the iconic Yellowstone
National Park close by, it is an ideal location for a wilderness
adventure program. From here it is easy to get into the back-country
for multi-day hiking trips, river access is a short walk
away, and wildlife watching can literally happen in our back
yard.
The facilities at basecamp include a small
commercial kitchen, dining room, wall tent accommodation,
a washhouselecture room with attached kitchen, back-country
logistics base, staff accommodation, large grounds and covered
outside deck, and low ropes course elements. Groups of 20-30
students plus staff can easily be accommodated on site. |

MYE is an initiative of the Orfalea Foundations, which is based on Santa Barbara, CA. Many of our staff work in MT in the summer, and are based out of the Foundation, in CA, in the winter.
With the majority of our alumni living in California, it is also where the largest
section of our MYExplore program is situated. Ellen Sagmyr, MYE Director of Programs, is the main go-to person for alumni wanting
information about the California programs. To contact our staff go to
